No Sleep Till Blog Wars

So with Blog Wars coming up I thought I'd throw up a post about the list I'll be taking. If you don't know Blog Wars has a few special rules and one is that you must have a special character in your list. I was tempted to take Baron again as he is probably the best HQ in the dex IMO. But I just played him a couple weeks ago at a tournament and want to give another character a try. Duke "Motherfucking" Sliscus. Heres the list

Heres the catch. My army isn't finished. And nowhere close. So tonight, I will not get sleep. But you. Will get updates. I am currently short 2 Venoms, 2 Ravagers, a trueborn unit and none of my reavers are painted. Trying to move into a new place and deal with work/holiday/club and an unhealthy fixation on Battlefield 3 (mostly) has left me way behind. I'm aiming to have everything assembled and primed tonight(if I can find my glue). Here is the current state of my desk.

So as tonight and tomorrow goes I will come back to this post and edit/update it to show my progress. And if there is no sleep till Blog Wars, so be it. Didn't sleep the night before Brighton and I did alright! Lets do this!

UPDATE: Got all my models cut off sprues and both Venoms and Reavers shaved. Buddy brought me a Red Bull so now I'm in Rambo MODE!

    i thought I had it bad with needing 15 extra guardsmen, but i painted those in 2 evenings, which surprised me. then this eveing i remembered i have no guys with Demo charcges, which, considering i have 9, isnt really reasonable, so i am building those now and plan to blutak them on for the games :P

    good luck with the painting and building, it is amazing how much you can do with a deadline looming.

    They won't be painted well, sadly. They will be painted enough to be legal and able to go back and make awesome later. Glue is MIA. Trimming bits. Update soon!

    will be fast, I dunno how I would beat it I think Im gonna struggle against venoms and I have no Idea how Wyches are in combat.

    PMSL! Didn't Ven do the same with his DE at the last Blog Wars? I seem to remember them being basecoated black and pink.

    I thought I had it bad painting Swarmlord, 3 Hive Guard, a Tyrant Guard and 19 Gaunts in 4 days....

    all i can say about the list is that it is broken as fuck, and that if i play you, the only reason i wont be losing in a single turn is because my reserves will arrive over 3 turns, prolonging my agony.

    @6th Degree - hey!! mine were ALL pink man! Actually, the wyches may have been black, silver n flesh.. d'oh! maybe not ALL pink.. fair enough...and yeah, they were all built like the week before last Blog Wars!

    @Atreides..just hope to get them in the open and nuke them with demo charges lol! now...how to get them in the open before they assault and kill you..

    so basically, both of you have taken the best models GW have produced in the last decade and totally disrespected them by bashing them out in 48 hours. good work guys ;)

    and Ven, no chance, he doesn't ever need to get out, those splinter cannons will DESTROY me.

    Well I feel suitably ashamed of myself since I decided two months wouldn't be enough time to bring DE to Blog Wars 2 and reverted back to Space Wolves!

    That's a nice list too, can't wait to see how the Duke fares.

    @Atreides, I wish my dice were good enough to be able to pull it off! And I love the models. I won't let them sit as they are after the tourney. Going to paint them all to a good standard. I just paint horridly slow.

    @Von I actually haven't played Black Templars yet except for a couple 500pt skirmish's. But Blessed Hull would be once way to wreck me. 6's to glance and 10s on 2d6 with heat lances. Just plow a LR into me!

    Can't wait to game tomorrow!
    Will be cramming more tonight. Glueing, Painting, possibly more Rambo pics coming up later. Have a going away for a couple guys leaving the base! Hopefully I can get a few hours sleep!

    Looks superbly fast and ded killy to me, (Ork player) but you should probably look at my Dark Eldar list on the Uncle Truth's problem cabin section of my blog.

    I neither own, nor have played a Dark Eldar army.

    Whoever designed the Ravager side turrets is an idiot. 3 tiny pieces glued together then clip into a pivot slot on top and bottom that is even flimsier. And somehow your supposed to mount a shield to the front and attatched a dark lance to the model inside. Venting so I don't chuck it out the window. Painting is the easy part. But I HATE assembling. Ok. Rant over, new playlist. Back to the GRIND!
