Deployment in Action: The Future

As an experiment, I will try and develop the DiA to cover a whole wide spectrum of armies.
Rather than doing a huge volume of individual army builds, going first and second, across all missions and deployments…once completed, I can go back and do more specific DiA articles as originally planned…otherwise it could take a year before I get to the army you guys may want covering…only to find you no longer want it!! Lol.

I will group them as such;
Mech on Mech
Mech on Hybrid
Mech on Foot

Foot on Foot
Foot on Hybrid
Foot on Mech

Hybrid on Hybrid
Hybrid on Mech
Hybrid on Foot

For each, they will get a break down in a full DiA article as such:
Spearhead

Capture and Control
Seize Ground
Annihilation

Pitched Battle

Capture and Control
Seize Ground
Annihilation

Dawn of War
Capture and Control
Seize Ground
Annihilation

I think this will better serve the vast majority of the community….faster.

Do you have any thoughts regarding this task? Have I missed anything….I may have a mystery, super secret new author to come on board…allowing me to focus on this baby…but its on the down low dear reader and very…hush, hush … (Bonus points for the last line? What film…?)

  1. 1 word for you: Lazy.

Seriously a much better idea, it would also encourage a lot more discussion I feel as you can then banter back and forth about the application to your own army (E.G my mech vs Andy's mech etc..) and also the golden rule of any advice which is to take it on board and process it to how its applicable to you.

    Looking forward to it all.

  3. Yeah, thought it might be a good idea...will hash out the first couple this weekend...get it lined up for one per week... make it regular, like a Monday or something...

  4. Getting a couple of staple regulars are a v.good idea and I had a lot of success with that over at RTCWnation (donkey years ago) and then various other sites like ESReality etc.. (well I was a guest writer on specific days).

Looking forward to them any which day they come out on - like I joked to Atreidies the other day - our spearhead/5 objective game was a near carbon copy deployment lol.

  5. I would also include vs Drop/Descent armies, as droppoding or DoAing meltaguns can ruin plenty of people's days.

  6. Thanks Max, good idea the 'Null Deployment' armies as Fritz calls them at Fritz40k...all reserve armies definately need attention at deployment...
